Making Skillful Presentations

BTRC's one-day program, Making Skillful Presentations, is designed for those people who consider giving presentations among the top five fears of mankind. This information-packed program provides the tools participants need to give typical workplace presentations with greater knowledge, skill and confidence. In order to provide participants with the opportunity to prepare and practice a presentation, this "working session" is limited to groups of six or less.

Participants deliver a quick videotaped introduction that is later played for a "baseline" assessment of platform skills. Participants use the program's "Fast Formula" to organize or rework a presentation they have delivered unsuccessfully in the past, or to prepare a short version of a presentation they may need to deliver in the future. The "Fast Formula" allows participants to prepare presentations with five days or five minutes lead-time. Participants deliver a 5-7 minute videotaped "dress rehearsal," receive taped feedback and leave with a copy of both their baseline and final presentations.

This program enables participants to manage:

  • Presentation Anxiety
  • Methods of Delivery
  • Vocal Quality
  • Eye Contact
  • Movement
  • Gesture
  • Audience and Occasion Analysis
  • Content Selection
  • Organization and Audience Adaptation
  • Questions/Objections
