Flexibility

Boston Training Resource Company offers a broad selection of management and professional development programs. The descriptions here are a partial listing. Please contact us if you don't find topics that match your needs or interests.

All BTRC programs can be expanded, tailored, combined and/or re-titled to accommodate client training/performance objectives and competency requirements. Although programs are independent of one another, they can be sequenced in ways that build from one program to the next, thereby maximizing knowledge/skill acquisition and application.

Design Principles

BTRC uses experiential learning as the foundation of its training designs. As a result, most programs are designed to accommodate up to 16 participants, although BTRC makes every effort to accommodate client requests for variations on that number. All designs are consistent with the principles of adult learning and accommodate each of the four learning styles. Though they are developed on the basis of basic and advanced management and behavioral theory, BTRC programs are not "theoretical." They are practical, content-rich, real world, and hands-on. Unless otherwise requested by the client, BTRC keeps theoretical presentations to a minimum and reserves them for times when knowledge enhancement or skill use is directly tied to the conceptual understanding of a topic.

Activities

BTRC programs include several types of activities:

  • individual, large, and small group work
  • large and small group discussions
  • mini-lectures
  • short case studies
  • basic exercises designed to develop fundamental levels of knowledge/skill
  • advanced exercises designed to develop mastery of knowledge/skill
  • applications designed to help participants transfer training to their work environments
  • skill practices/simulations designed to approximate the conditions of the workplace.

Supporting Media

Supporting media for BTRC programs typically includes:

  • print participant workbooks
  • print handouts
  • articles
  • training videos
  • survey instruments and profiles

All key content is reinforced with PowerPoint presentations, copies of which are distributed to participants.

Instructors

Unless scheduling conflicts arise, Nancy Fulford, President and founder of BTRC, delivers all of BTRC's training programs. However, BTRC works in conjunction with other consulting organizations and individuals. In the unlikely event that Nancy is unavailable for client desired training dates, sub-contractors approved by the client will provide instruction.

All instructors contracted by BTRC:

  • have extensive management and professional development backgrounds.
  • have in excess of 10 years experience as facilitators of management and professional development training programs.
  • are highly skilled in group process, facilitation and presentation.
  • have multi-industry, multi-level training and consulting experience.
